Paint peeling – common questions during use?

It may be due to the surface being too smooth. If the original paint is glossy or powdery (with untreated color paste coating), the newly applied paint may not stick firmly on the surface, or it may be due to wood decay or metal rust spots, or peeling due to poor paint quality.

Small areas of paint peeling can be first polished with fine sandpaper, then putty, primer, and repainted. Large areas of peeling must be completely scraped off and repainted.
